So many good things happened in 2019! This summer, Morgan and I marched in the Pride Parade for the first time, which was really fun. I got a shiny new website, designed by my incredible aunt (and my mom wrote the copy)! It looks amazing! I am so happy with it and so proud of all the work we put into it. By far the best thing that happened last year, was my amazing, beautiful girlfriend proposing to me at a cheese board picnic in the park! How could I say no when I was surrounded by cheese?
I actually kept some of my resolutions from last New Years and met some of my goals! I think it’s worthwhile to share the reality rather than just the successes. And really, who actually keeps up with all their New Years’ resolutions throughout the whole year?
2019 – Year in Review
Some of my 2019 resolutions were to stretch more, which lasted about a month, and to go on a walk to pick up trash once a week. I did the second one for about 6 months before getting really discouraged. I plan to start up my trash walks again though and try to keep a positive perspective this time. Another goal of mine was to reduce my packaging and plastic waste. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come on this one! I’ve made a lot of changes from buying bulk foods in my own containers to switching to bar shampoo and conditioner. And, I have a never-ending list of more improvements to make so this one will definitely carry into 2020 and beyond.
On the business side of things, I did pretty well. I set a networking goal that I met almost every month this year. I also set a goal to have my work in a gallery and although I didn’t quite meet that one I did get accepted to a gallery! Except the acceptance email went to my spam folder and I didn’t see it until the show was over. Whoops! I also set a goal to do three Dance Warriors sessions but I really slacked off on that one and only did one. It was amazing though and I am so excited to share it. The goal that I am most excited about though was my headshot session goal, which I not only met but exceeded!
2020 Here I Come!
I’m setting some pretty lofty goals for this year and I’ll let you know how they go. I am so excited to meet all my 2020 clients and continue working with my amazing repeat clients. I’m looking forward to more Dance Warriors sessions and for the 2020 Presenting Denver Dance Festival. I can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
