I love this downtown Denver senior session I did with Alea last winter. We did this session in January and I have to say, I just love photographing in downtown in the winter. There’s hardly anyone else around which is so nice. Plus, while a lot of places feel bland and boring in the winter, the city is still full of color and vibrancy! Luckily, it was a warm day for January and Alea made it look like the middle of summer. She wasn’t afraid to bring out the crop tops and dresses, even in the cold. We ended the session with a cute sweater look to round it out.
We started the session behind Union Station and made our way to Millennium Bridge. I really love how sleek and modern this part of the city is. Alea is a dancer and I am a dance photographer in addition to portraits so this was a match made in heaven! We did a few sets of photos with her in her pointe shoes, behind Union Station, and on Millennium Bridge. I love using the bridge for dance photos. There are so many cool fences and benches to hand from and jump off of! At the end of her session, I made sure to get her mom in a photo. Everyone should have a professional portrait with their parent, right?
I’m in love with the portrait they chose as the yearbook photo. It’s the first one on this page. Alea is so serious in that portrait and I think it shows her as mature and ready to take on the world. That’s what being a senior is all about right? Well, that and having tons of fun!
