Kyra and Ben reached out to the day before their small, downtown Denver wedding when their original photographer found out she might have been exposed to COVID. I don’t do a lot of weddings but I couldn’t say no to this sweet couple! They got married just off the 16th St. Mall, surrounded by their loved ones.
These two met when Ben first moved to Denver and Kyra hired him to work at her store. They couldn’t date for a while because of their work relationship but they became great friends and started dating a few years later. They got engaged last winter and just bought their first home together! Back in December, they started planning their wedding at Moss, but when the pandemic hit, they had to change their plans. They cut their guest list down to just their immediate family and moved their wedding to the party room of Ben’s parent’s condo.

I love that their ceremony was on the roof with views of the city! I could even see my apartment building from the getting ready suite. For their newlywed portraits, we wandered around the streets and found this great little alcove with lush greenery. Then we noticed that the Market St. building was just behind us. It happens to be Kira’s favorite building (and mine too!) so we headed over there to get a few more romantic portraits!
COVID note: I wear a mask for every session and event I do, the whole time. Since this was indoors with more than a few people, I stepped it up and wore an N-95. I also get tested at the Pepsi Center a week after any large or indoor event I work.
