Last year, I got the opportunity to take magazine cover photos for CEP Magazine. CEP is a publication for compliance and ethics professionals put out by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). If you’ve ever worked in the corporate world, you’ve probably gone through some of their compliance and ethics training programs. They needed three portraits of Kirsten, their featured interviewee, for their November 2019 issue. Scroll to the end to see the one they chose for the cover photo. I had to save the best for last!

Kirsten is an expert in the field of corporate compliance. She founded Rethink Compliance, which helps companies ensure a healthy and ethical work environment for their employees. She also wrote SCCE’s new book, Creating Great Compliance Training in a Digital World, helping companies t better reach and persuade their workforce. Her work is so relevant, now more than ever! Lately, she’s been providing insight on ways to ease the transition to work from home while maintaining open communication and high productivity.
She works and manages her international team from a co-working space in downtown Denver. They were gracious enough to let us use their space for this session and it worked out beautifully! Co-working spaces can make excellent branding headshot locations. they are already well decorated and usually have great light. This space had floor to ceiling windows! Plus, they are usually near some great outdoor areas as well. We did do some of Kirsten’s portraits outside but it was so windy that day so we stuck with the indoor portraits for the magazine. She was also able to use some of these portraits to promote her book.
