A while back, I did a giveaway for a networking group I’m a part of. I gave a free mini headshot session to a lucky winner at the group’s annual holiday party. Sage Hobbs was the lucky winner! The party was a blast and I’m so glad I got this great chance to connect further with Sage in the new year. We did this session in Sage’s home. Oksana Starling came to do her hair and makeup before we got started. Sage’s home had a beautiful backyard with huge apple trees. It was autumn so there was great color and the fallen leaves made for the perfect background. The living room had really nice light so we did most of the session there.

With Denver in home headshots, I can scout a little bit on Google Maps before our session. In fact, I always explore Google Maps or Google Earth before photographing in a new location. With Google alone, I can’t always get a full sense of the space so I usually come a little early to check it out as well. That way, I can have the whole session planned out before we start. I’ll find all the best spots in and around your home so we can make beautiful, dynamic images.
Since we were staying on her property, we had enough time to do an outfit change during her mini-session. I love that we were able to do some headshots in a professional dress as well as some in a casual t-shirt. After Sage and I were done taking photos, we talked for a while about inclusivity and diversity, which was wonderful. I’m really inspired by the work that Sage does to teach inclusivity in schools and other organizations, by speaking about communication and connection.
