Most of my headshot sessions are outside or at least half outside. However, I do occasionally do indoor sessions in my Denver headshot studio, right downtown. I have a great natural light space in my apartment building that I use often, like for Sam and Lance‘s session. It gives a great casual office feel and it’s a great option for winter sessions. I also have use of another great space in my building, which is where we did Jessie May’s mini headshot session. It’s not much but it has a white wall, and the opposite wall is all windows! There is amazing natural light there, especially in the mornings.
Jessie May’s Denver Headshot Studio Session
Jessie May called me to see if I had any last-minute availability. She needed a photo of herself on a white background, to use on a banner for an upcoming talk she was doing. I knew I could fit her in for a morning session in the studio since I schedule my outdoor sessions for the evening. (The best light is just before sunset!) During our session, we tried a couple of different outfits and some different jewelry and makeup looks. There’s a bathroom right next to this studio space so quick changes are super easy! I’ve also used this space for quick passport photos!
Since Jessie May was planning to use this photo on a banner, as part of a larger graphic, she needed a perfectly white background. The first two sets of images are lightly edited and the last set is fully edited, with the background removed. Having the clean white background of this space made it possible and her banner looked amazing at the conference!
